OMINIWORKS HOMEOWNER GUIDE
How to choose a driveway contractor
The evidence, specification, insurance, payment stages and references homeowners should check.
Compare evidence, not promises
Check the trading company, insurance, relevant accreditations, recent work and reviews. Ask who will manage the project and who remains responsible for groundwork, drainage and the finished surface.
Demand a written specification
A useful quotation describes excavation, disposal, base depths, compaction, drainage, edges, covers, finish, payment stages and guarantees. A vague square-metre price is difficult to compare.
Protect both sides with clear terms
Agree the scope, variations process, access arrangements, start/payment stages and completion standard before work begins. Avoid pressure to pay large unexplained sums without supporting paperwork.
