Why do resin driveways fail?

The common problems caused by unsuitable bases, poor drainage, weak edges, incorrect mixing and rushed installation.

Failure usually starts below the resin

Movement, settlement, trapped water and weak edges often originate in the base. Resin cannot compensate for unsuitable or unstable construction beneath it.

Installation conditions matter

Incorrect resin-to-aggregate ratios, poor mixing, delayed laying, damp aggregate or unsuitable weather can cause colour variation, weak areas or incomplete curing.

Warning signs to investigate

Cracking, loose stone, standing water, edge movement and unexplained staining should be assessed rather than covered over. The cause determines whether local repair or larger reconstruction is appropriate.
