Landscape Gardening Bristol

Landscape gardening in Bristol should begin with what you need your garden to do. Ominiworks helps bring lawns, planting, boundaries and practical outdoor spaces into one considered plan, whether you want to refresh part of the garden or arrange a fuller transformation.

Our work can include garden design, turfing, artificial grass, fencing, decking, raised beds, sleepers, garden walls and ground levelling. We consider drainage and access alongside the visible features, so decisions made early support the finished layout.

A garden plan with room for daily life

Garden lawn with curved dark edging, pale paths and timber raised beds

An attractive garden still needs somewhere for bins, a route to the shed and space for the activities that matter to you. We discuss how different parts of the garden will be used before deciding where its features belong. This helps avoid a collection of attractive elements that do not work well together.

You may want a larger lawn, clearer boundaries or a place to grow plants at a comfortable height. Alternatively, reducing awkward corners and improving access may make the greatest difference. Existing trees, established planting and useful structures can be considered for retention.

From a small Southville garden to a larger plot around Westbury-on-Trym, we assess your site rather than prescribe a standard makeover. Access, levels and the condition of existing ground determine what is practical and how the work should be sequenced.

The Stoke Gifford entrance project started with failed new-build turf and unsuitable underlying soil. Removing that material allowed us to introduce planting and a Vuba Alaskan Tundra finish. It demonstrates why a garden proposal should address what lies beneath the visible surface as well as its appearance.

Bring hard and soft landscaping together

The strongest garden layouts balance structure with planting and open space. Walls, fencing and raised beds create definition; lawns and planted borders change the feel of the space around them. We discuss the relationship between these elements before individual materials are selected.

Our completed Bristol garden project combines Indian sandstone, new lawn and garden lighting. It shows how several elements can be coordinated without requiring every garden to follow the same design. Your own priorities guide the proposal.

If the work includes a dedicated seating area or new access route, our specialist patio and paving services can form part of the wider plan. Their detailed specifications remain focused on those surfaces, while the landscaping proposal coordinates the garden as a whole.

Elements of your garden makeover

Turfing and artificial grass

A new lawn needs suitable ground preparation, not simply a fresh covering. We discuss natural turf and artificial grass in relation to use, appearance and upkeep. Levels, edges and drainage are considered whichever option you choose, with care advice for the finished area.

Fencing, decking and boundaries

Boundaries influence privacy and the way a garden feels. We can discuss fencing and decking as part of the agreed scheme, considering access gates, changes in level and the relationship with adjoining spaces. The proposed work should be clear about what is retained or replaced.

Planting, sleepers and raised beds

Planting choices depend on the actual position, available space and maintenance you prefer. Raised beds and sleepers can organise growing areas and separate them from lawns or routes. We discuss their dimensions and construction alongside the planting plan rather than choosing them in isolation.

Walls, levelling and drainage

Changes in level can require more than moving soil. We assess the intended use of each area and discuss appropriate groundworks, garden walls or retaining features. Drainage must be considered with the layout so that improving one part of the garden does not create a problem elsewhere.

One coordinated plan for the outdoor space

We help you prioritise useful improvements and understand their sequence. The quotation sets out the agreed scope, while a discussion of retained features and access helps reduce uncertainty before work begins.

Your questions answered

Can you redesign the whole garden?

Yes, we can discuss a coordinated garden makeover incorporating suitable hard and soft landscaping. The survey establishes the scope and identifies features, access constraints and ground conditions that influence the plan.

Can the work be completed in stages?

Some projects can be phased, but the sequence needs planning. For example, later groundwork should not require removing a newly finished area. We can discuss sensible stages once the overall layout is understood.

Do you include planting as well as construction?

Planting can be part of the agreed landscaping scope. We discuss the position, soil observed on site, exposure and your preferred upkeep before selecting suitable plants or defining the planting work.

Can you work with a sloping garden?

We can assess changes in level and discuss possible layouts. Levelling, retaining features and drainage need to be considered together. Any specialist design requirements are identified before the relevant work is agreed.

Is artificial grass easier to look after than turf?

Its care routine is different, but it still needs cleaning and attention to drainage. Natural turf needs establishment and ongoing lawn care. We discuss both against how your household uses the garden.

Do I need drawings before requesting a quote?

No. You can begin with your postcode and a description of the improvements you want. If you have drawings, they can inform the discussion. Call 0117 463 7730 or use the enquiry form to start.
