OMINIWORKS HOMEOWNER GUIDE
Porcelain or Indian sandstone patio?
Compare appearance, maintenance, installation and long-term performance before choosing.
Porcelain: crisp and consistent
Porcelain offers consistent sizing, controlled colour and low porosity. It suits contemporary designs and is generally easier to keep clean, but it needs correct cutting, priming, full-bed installation and suitable exterior-rated tiles.
Sandstone: natural character
Indian sandstone has natural variation in tone, texture and thickness. It works especially well with traditional properties and informal gardens, but its appearance changes with weathering and it normally needs more maintenance.
Choose for the property, not the sample alone
Consider the architecture, slip resistance, sunlight, planting, joint colour, steps, drainage and the amount of maintenance you are comfortable with. View several slabs or a completed project where possible.
