EXPERT PAVING INSTALLATION

A surface that balances design, function and durability.

Well-designed paving can transform the appearance and usability of a driveway, patio, pathway or garden area. OMINIWORKS works with a range of quality materials and plans each installation around the property, intended use and preferred style.

Preparation, base construction, levelling, edge restraint and drainage are considered before the finish is laid. Borders, steps and lighting can then add definition and character where they form part of the agreed design.

THE INSTALLATION PROCESS

Good paving starts below the finished surface.

  1. Survey and measure: review access, ground, thresholds, intended use and the route rainwater needs to take.
  2. Choose the material: compare appearance, texture, slip resistance, loading and maintenance needs.
  3. Prepare the ground: excavate as required, form a stable sub-base and establish the designed levels and edges.
  4. Lay and finish: install the paving with the appropriate bedding and jointing method, then complete drainage and detail work.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Paving installation questions, answered.

What types of paving does OMINIWORKS install?

OMINIWORKS installs block paving, natural stone, porcelain and suitable concrete paving for driveways, patios, paths, entrances and garden areas.

Is paving suitable for both driveways and patios?

Yes, but the construction and product must suit the intended use. A driveway needs a specification designed for vehicle loading, while patios and paths are planned around foot traffic, levels, thresholds and garden use.

How do you prevent water pooling on new paving?

The survey and design establish falls, finished levels and suitable drainage before installation. Water must move away from buildings and should not collect at low points or discharge onto the highway.

Can paving include borders and other design details?

Yes. Borders, contrasting courses, steps, edging and lighting can be incorporated where appropriate to the layout, materials and written specification.
